Do Singaporean Citizens Need a Visa to Vietnam?

Singapore passport holders DO NOT need a visa for Vietnam for every stay of maximum 30 days. They only need a visa if they wish to stay in Vietnam for over 30 consecutive days.

To enter Vietnam, whether under visa exemption or not, their Singaporean passports should:

  • be valid for at least 6 month following arrival date in Vietnam;
  • have at least 2 blank pages.

How to Apply Vietnam Visa for Singaporean Citizens?

Singaporean citizens and passport holders have two methods to get a Vietnamese visa to choose from if their length of stay is longer than 30 days:

1. Get Visa at Local Vietnam Embassy

Contact the local Vietnam embassy/consulate in Singapore (if you are residing in Singapore), or in nearby countries (if you are not residing in Singapore currently) to get visa stamped on your passport prior to going to Vietnam.

The applicants in this way will need to prepare the required document as guided by the embassy and then visit the embassy at least twice, one for submitting the documents and one for picking up the visa and passport. In case they wish to avoid those travel, they are highly recommended the second option below.

2. Get Vietnam Visa Upon Arrival (Recommended)

Vietnam visa on arrival is the best way to get a visa to Vietnam for Singaporean citizens and passport holders traveling to Vietnam by air as it requires no contact with the embassy of Vietnam.

VOA to Vietnam can be obtained via www.vietnam-visa.com with 3 steps below:

 

1. Fill out the secure online application form, and make payment of service fee.

2. Receive the visa approval letter by email.

Normally in 2 working days (for tourist visa) or 7 working days (for business visa), attached with Vietnamese application form (also as Entry and Exit Form).

2. Get visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport.
